Nokia-Microsoft Alliance: What about Qt?

Due to the controversy alliance to include Windows Phone 7 in Nokia mobile devices , many of us wondered how the Qt library, used in KDE and many other products. As Daniel Kihlberg , responsible for sales , marketing and services of Nokia Qt , reassures us of her blog entry that explains the future of this technology. Among other things, said:
  • is vital for Nokia the retaining 200 million users of Symbian and 150 million expected in the coming years. For this, Nokia needs to modernize this OS using the Qt .
  • also announced that Meego, which is based on Qt, many devices would be included in this year 2011.
  • expected a growth of Qt developers thanks to the release of Qt Quick and SDK 1.1 Qt , adding to the 400,000 who are currently estimated. He also notes that Nokia continues hiring people to develop Qt, you do so because it relies on this technology.
  • Qt everywhere. Qt continues to increase its share of use in small devices and Linux distros . In addition, movie studios like Dreamworks have made the transition to Qt in animation tools of internal for film making as Megamind or How to Train Your Dragon (good film to come from Dreamworks).
So far it seems clear that Nokia not be undone just like the Qt and although that day came, we can rest easy, as they have insured that are then released under BSD license.
